Washington, D.C. – Anti-health reform members in the U.S. House of Representatives made a largely symbolic vote today to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA)—less than two weeks after a historic Supreme Court ruling declared the law constitutional. The ACA has already provided coverage options for 97,000 Asian American and Pacific Islander young adults who have been able to remain on their parent’s insurance plans and nearly 3 million Asian Americans have received preventive health care at no cost.
Stay tuned for APIAHF’s press release. Supreme Court opinion is attached.
APIAHF has an exciting opportunity with great benefits! Seeking a Development Specialist with exceptional communication and writing skills. Interested parties please email a cover letter, resume, fund raising writing sample and salary history to hr@apiahf.org

Washington, D.C. – The Supreme Court ruled today that most of Arizona’s SB 1070—the state’s anti-immigration law—was preempted by federal law and therefore unconstitutional. The Court, however, upheld the most controversial provision, the racial profiling provision which allows law enforcement to determine a person’s immigration status if they have a “reasonable suspicion” the person does not have legal status. Today’s decision will not go into effect immediately.
