He was born in San Francisco and received his BA from Stanford University and his MD and residency training from Tulane University. Joyce O'Brien, MPH., a Native Hawaiian, is the Associate Director at the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center which is located on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii. She has been at the Health Center, which is the largest community health center in the state of Hawaii, since 1989. In addition to assisting in day to day operations, Joyce oversees grant development and programs at the Health Center. Besides her administrative and health education background she has also worked in the fields of early childhood education and disabilities.

Senator Mee Moua was first elected to the Minnesota Senate in a special election in January 2002. She is the nation's first Hmong American elected to a state legislature. Senator Moua chairs the Senate Committee on Judiciary and is a member of the Tax Committee, Public Safety Budget Division, and the Transportation Budget and Policy Committee. Senator Moua also chairs the Housing and Children and Youth Caucus. In addition to being a member of the Senate, Senator Moua is an attorney.

In 1990, Victor Kaiwi Pang was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Mr. Pang worked with OCAPICA, the Orange County Asian & Pacific Islander Community Alliance, helped in outreaching to Native Hawaiian men for their men's health support group. Generally we focused on men's health, but there was a small part of the support group that focused on cancer and survivorship.

Wilson Wang, MD, MPH, MPA, is the medical director for NYC Department of Health's, Harlem District Public Health Office (DPHO). Dr. Wang works with insurance companies, hospitals and private clinicians to increase quality of medical care through a system-based approach to health and disease. He also directs the medical aspects of a comprehensive DPHO asthma case management program and is leading efforts to increase DPHO visibility and responsiveness in the Harlem community.
