Salary Range: Competitive, excellent fringe benefits Reports to: Community Capacity Program Director Location: Washington, DC Job Summary: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the various activities of a funded body of work related to capacity development. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for performing grant administration and support activities such as but not limited to: assisting in program documentation and developing products, managing electronic program telecommunications, websites and databases, and conference and meeting planning and coordination. The Program Coordinator, in conjunction with the Community Capacity Program Director, will work towards achieving the mission and aims of the grant. Health Law Policy Intern (DC, Summer 2010)The Health Law Policy Intern will work with other APIAHF Policy Division staff to conduct research and write and/or update health policy briefs, draft comments on proposed legislation, regulations or guidance, draft talking points for Congressional staff, and draft letters of support or opposition to legislation. Stipend: $10-$15/hr.; school credit available; reimbursement for Metro fare
Research Assistant (San Francisco)Deadline extended to March 31, 2010 Position: Research Assistant, 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week) The Research Assistant, under the supervision of the Research and Data Manager, will be assisting with data collection, data management, and analysis across projects that focus on AA and NHPI populations. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, planning and implementation of research/evaluation, management and analysis of data from APIAHF projects including assisting with coordination/monitoring of data, data collection and entry, database cleaning, and reporting. Chronic Diseases Program Intern (Spring 2010)The Chronic Diseases Program currently addresses tobacco control and cancer survivorship in addition to past projects in cardiovascular disease. Future areas that may be addressed by this program include nutrition, diabetes, and physical activity. Chronic Diseases Program Intern will help develop relevant materials & promote the newly funded Asian & Pacific Islander National Cancer Survivors Network (APINCSN). APIAHF, in collaboration with Taulama for Tongans Taulama, Radio Tonga San Francisco (RTSF), and the Every Woman Counts Program, will focus on the following activities during the project period: (1) develop new and translate existing Komen educational materials into culturally and linguistically appropriate Tongan breast cancer educational materials; (2) develop a breast cancer educational radio program targeting Tongan communities through a bi-monthly radio talk show on RTSF; and (3) outreach to local Tongan churches to conduct breast cancer educational workshops and promote breast cancer education, screening, and resources available in their communities. |
