The VP for Governmental Affairs is based in APIAHF's Washington, D.C., office, and is the anchoring executive in that satellite location.  The VP for Governmental Affairs will develop and implement the organization's political engagement strategy with federal, state, and local elected officials; regulatory agencies; and key policymakers in the public and private sectors.  The position has primary responsibility for building relationships with agency heads and policymakers and developing government affairs strategies that enhance the organization's image among policymakers in order to effectively influence health policy.

As a member of the APIAHF executive team, the VP External Affairs will play a major role in the strategic positioning of the organization. The position has primary responsibility for all externally-facing functions including strategic communications, resource development, convenings, and resource sharing.
