SAN FRANCISCO - The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum today applauded President-elect Obama's nomination of U.S. Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis (D-CA) to serve as the Secretary of the United States Department of Labor.
"Congresswoman Solis is an outstanding choice to head the U.S. Department of Labor, and we look forward to working with her on issues that affect Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Communities," said Dr. Ho Luong Tran, president and CEO of APIAHF. "She has tirelessly fought to strengthen our workforce and understands that healthy communities are inextricably linked to jobs that provide economic security and to a clean environment."
APIAHF is a national advocacy organization dedicated to promoting policy, program, and research efforts to improve the health and well-being of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities.
