SAN FRANCISCO - The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) today mourned the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA).
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family as we mourn the passing of one of our nation's great leaders," said Dr. Ho Luong Tran, president and CEO of APIAHF. "Senator Kennedy was a dedicated and passionate leader who fought tirelessly to improve the lives of the most vulnerable Americans."
"It is up to all of us to build upon his legacy to make sure that everyone has access to education, affordable health care and other opportunities that are so vital in achieving the American dream," said Tran.
APIAHF is a national health policy organization for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Paciļ¬c Islanders. APIAHF's mission is to advocate for greater recognition, inclusion and engagement of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders on policies and programs that are critical to the health and well-being of our diverse and vibrant communities.
