Action Alert

Update: Vote NO on the House Budget Resolution

April 11, 2006

Thank you everyone for your advocacy.  Last week, we urged you to call your representative to ask them to vote against the budget resolution ((H.Con.Res. 376).  The House adjourned last week without taking action, which is good news for now.

Congress is now in a two-week Spring Recess and is expected to consider the bill upon its return April 25th.  During the Spring Recess, it is important to contact your Representative in his or her District office to deliver the following message:  vote against the House budget resolution if it does not include increased funding for Labor-HHS-Education programs.  Advocacy efforts to date have been successful, as is evidenced by the postponed vote.  But the pressure needs to remain high.  Therefore, please contact your Representative even if you have already done so—they need to hear from constituents during this recess period.
