Still Awaiting HHS Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Policy Guidance
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) solicited additional comments last year on its policy guidance on Title VI's prohibition against national origin discrimination as it affects limited English proficient (LEP) persons. The guidance was originally published for comment in August 2000 and again in February 1, 2002. There is no indication from the Office for Civil Rights when a final version will be released.
