The STRIVE Project, a partnership of the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) and the New York University Center for the Study of Asian American Health (CSAAH), is pleased to announce a request for proposals (RFP) for community-based organizations and coalitions to implement high-impact, population-wide, evidence- and practice-based strategies that reduce health disparities for Asian American (AA) and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) populations experiencing high burden from chronic disease related risk factors for lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, access to healthy food options, and/or issues related to weight management.

This RFP, funded through a Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) cooperative agreement award from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Division of Community Health, will fund 10-15 projects at $100,000-300,000 that are population-wide or impact large systems (e.g., school districts, chambers of commerce, counties, etc.) and can reach 75% of the AA and NHPI population within a local jurisdiction. Projects that propose research, individual-level behavior change interventions, health education, the provision of health services, or projects that impact only a few schools, businesses, or neighborhoods within a district will not be considered for funding.

Please note that CDC has encouraged that the STRIVE Project select sub-recipients for award from areas that are not currently funded through other CDC community health initiatives and programs (e.g., REACH, Community Transformation Grants, Communities Putting Prevention to Work).
