Chien-Chi Huang is a breast cancer survivor and is the Director of the Asian Breast Cancer Project in Massachusetts.
She has spearheaded several new health initiatives addressing the unique issues and challenges facing the Asian American community. These initiatives include Asian American Problem Gambling Outreach efforts, the Asian American Women’s Mental Health Symposium and the Asian American Mental Health Forum.
A deft community organizer and trainer, Ms. Huang has provided capacity building, technical guidance and network enhancement to community-based organizations and providers serving Asian Americans in the Commonwealth. Her previous training in media and communications has enabled Ms. Huang to create innovative outreach programs including a gambling-based ESL lesson plan for non-English speakers, a multi-lingual casino bus video, and a self-help guidebook with brochures in Chinese, Vietnamese and Khmer.
Several Asian media outlets have featured Ms. Huang’s efforts and highlighted her dedication to reducing health disparities related to gambling addiction, mental health and breast cancer. She has been recognized for bringing synergy to diverse work environments and fostering collaboration among stakeholders at all levels. She has been an APINCSN National Advisory Council member since 2011.
