Dorothy Etimani-Vaivao
Dorothy Etimani-Vaivao is the Executive Director of the Samoan National Nurses Association (SNNA), the only community-based health organization of professional Samoan nurses in the United States and established in Carson, CA in 1996.
In addition to leading the organization, Mrs. Etimani-Vaivao co-founded the organization and has played the roles of coordinator and educator for breast and cervical cancer community, state, and national grants. She has experience as a patient case manager of SNNA's senior-focused projects and is a certified translator and interpreter in the Samoan language. She also has also been the community liaison of health education and community projects working with community collaboratives and partners to improve health access for the Pacific Islander community. Mrs. Etimani-Vaivao is also a Licensed Vociational Nurse and has worked at various hospitals and medical centers in American Samoa, Arizona and California.
