The Asian & Pacific Islander Cancer Survivors Capacity Building Project focuses on outreach, collaboration, and advocacy to address the needs and minimize the burdens facing cancer survivors and their families. APICSN works minimize the burden of cancer and improve the quality of life of Asians and Pacific Islanders by dispelling myths, reducing disparities and providing hope.
The Asian & Pacific Islander Cancer Survivors Capacity Building Project is a network of cancer survivors, their family members, health care providers, researchers and community members who are concerned about the issue of cancer in the Asian & Pacific Islander (API) communities. We are striving to break the isolation that many cancer survivors feel when they are first diagnosed and going through treatment. We offer networking opportunities and link survivors with resources such as contacts with other survivors, and referrals to services and multi-lingual cancer materials. We are a national advocacy coalition, working with others to educate and advocate on the issue of cancer through speaking events, online networking, and promoting cancer survivors into national policymaking and research committees.
Help us build our network and become a member of the Asian & Pacific Islander Cancer Survivors Capacity Building Project. Membership will allow your Organization to:
- Advocate on AAPI cancer survivors’ needs in your region.
- Share with other organizations your methods, recommendations, information and strategies
- Access assistance in developing support groups .
- Network with other AAPI cancer support groups and AAPI serving cancer programs
- Learn effective program models to be applied in your regions and communities.
