Jeanette is the Deputy Commissioner of Investor Protection for the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI), to which she was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom. Jeanette was previously the Head of Compliance, Public Policy, and Financial Services Legal for Gusto, a small business and health care tech platform. Jeanette served as Senior Counsel to Chairman Tim Johnson and Chairman Sherrod Brown of the United States Senate Banking Committee and Senior Attorney at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Jeanette has a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Jeanette is an Eisenhower fellow, Truman National Security Project Political Partner, United States-Spain Council Young Leader, member of the American Council of Young Political Leaders, and Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs New Leader.
