Chief of Staff and Managing Director of COVID-19 Response

Lily Shen is Chief of Staff and Managing Director of COVID-19 Response at the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF).

In her role, Shen will serve as strategic advisor and counsel to the President and CEO. Shen will uplift the organization’s work to reach its mission of reaching Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. In addition, Shen is directing the portfolio of $4M COVID-19 initiatives to support AANHPI communities. Shen will lead a national AANHPI response to COVID-19 outreach and educational efforts in collaboration with over 30 community-based partner organizations. 

Shen formerly managed a family homeless sheltering program in San Mateo County. Shen led program management, community engagement, and strategy planning efforts. In addition, Shen led development efforts in Houston by increased fundraising efforts, stakeholder stewardship, and innovative events and convenings. Shen’s notable accomplishments include the development of in-kind donation programs, creation of young professionals network, and operational process improvements. 

Shen previously served on Morehouse School of Medicine National COVID-19 Resiliency Network’s Community Coalition Board and Families USA Vaccine Equity Advisory Committee. Shen currently sits on the board of directors of the NICOS Chinese Health Coalition in San Francisco Chinatown.

Shen received her B.A. from the University of California, Davis and her M.I.A. from the Pennsylvania State University. Shen enjoys traveling and exploring new food places on her time off.
