MQVN CDC’s mission is to preserve and promote our unique diversity and improving the quality of life of residents in the Greater New Orleans area, beginning in New Orleans East. Together with community partners, our work encompasses health care, environmental and agricultural concerns, education, housing, social services, economic development and culture and the arts.

 

Accelerator Lab Partner: Khai Nguyen, Program Manager, MQVN CDC

Khai Nguyen is from New Orleans and grew up in the Village de L’est community that MQVN CDC serves and has a familiar connection with many of our constituents. Khai attended Tulane University in New Orleans and has been with MQVN CDC since 2010 when he worked as a case manager assisting community members in the aftermath of the BP oil spill. Since then, he has worked on a wide range of projects as a program office and program manager. He manages the VEGGI Farmers Cooperative, which was created as a workforce development project for community members affected by the oil spill. He has also worked on projects focusing on: environmental justice, business development, civic engagement, social services, language access, community health, and others. He has worked with coalitions and partners throughout New Orleans and south Louisiana.
