WASHINGTON – Today, the Asian & Pacific American Health Forum (APIAHF) announces the hire of Jennifer Van der Heide as Vice President of Policy and Advocacy. Van der Heide has served as Chief of Staff to three members of Congress—including former long-time CAPAC Chair Congressman Mike Honda—and as Chief of Staff and Senior Counsel to U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland.

Juliet K. Choi, President & CEO of APIAHF, released the following statement:

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Jennifer Van der Heide to serve as Vice President of Policy and Advocacy at APIAHF. Jennifer is an accomplished leader and brings a wealth of experience as a senior executive manager in both Congress and the Biden administration. Additionally, she has served our Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities for two decades as Chief of Staff to former Congressman Mike Honda, where she managed the institutionalization of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and the development of the Congressional Tri-Caucus. A dear friend to so many of us, we are confident that in this role, Jennifer will continue to build, develop and advocate for our communities to deliver upon APIAHF’s mission of health equity.”
