WASHINGTON – Today, the Asian & Pacific American Health Forum (APIAHF) celebrates the thirteenth anniversary of the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Juliet K. Choi, President & CEO of APIAHF, released the following statement:

“As the ACA turns 13, we applaud the Biden-Harris administration for continuing to build on, invest in and strengthen the Affordable Care Act to maintain and improve the accessibility and equity of health care for all.

“The ACA has opened the door to quality, affordable health for millions of families since its implementation. And for the 2023 push to insure families in the Marketplace, the Administration allocated nearly $100 million in funding for Navigators, who provide the essential services of helping people enroll in health care coverage. This investment is particularly critical for limited English-proficient communities like ours.

“In this celebration, we urge Congress and the Administration to expand health care access, truly invest in our country’s public health system, increase health care protections and continue to address health care inequities to build a just and equitable health care system for all of us.”
