Obesity is a chronic disease characterized by excess or abnormal body fat that inhibits health and social well-being, which can result from a number of factors ranging from genetic, environmental, behavioral, social, cultural, and more. Obesity is understudied in Asian Americans as well as in Native Hawaiians or Pacific Islanders.
