The new Congressional leadership has announced that they will hold a vote on Wednesday, January 19th to repeal the historic health care reform legislation that was signed into law last year. Health care reform gives our children, families, and communities the freedom from worrying about losing their insurance or being denied health care because of pre-existing conditions. Urge your Representative to reject efforts to repeal health care reform!

To call your Representative, follow these simple steps:

  1. Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. It’s best to call in the morning so you don’t have any problems because of different time zones between your state and Washington, D.C.
  2. When the switchboard operators answers, ask to be connected to the office of your Representative. If you want to speak with your Representative’s office, you’ll need to give the operator your zip code. Sometimes there are more than one congressional districts in a zip code, so you may need to give the operator your full address to determine your Representative.
  3. The operator will then connect you to your Representative’s office.

As your constituent, I believe that health care reform is important to our communities. One in five Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders are uninsured and even more are underinsured. Health care reform will bring affordable health coverage to at least 30 million people in the United States. Please vote no on H.R.2 and reject any efforts to repeal health care reform!
