Development and Operations Associate

SAN FRANCISCO, CA

Pay: $70,000-$72,500

Position Duration: Full-time

Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum is looking for our next Development and Operations Associate. You will be a part of APIAHF, the longest-running health advocacy organization working with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities across the nation, in the US Territories, and with the US‐affiliated Pacific jurisdictions. Position Summary

The Development and Operations Associate provides operational, development, and administrative support to advance APIAHF's fundraising, organizational effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, and grant management activities. This role serves as a key coordinator across departments, ensuring projects, systems, and communications are managed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to solve problems, implement policies & procedures, and juggle competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Fundraising Support

  • Support fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship activities

  • Assist with grant proposal development and reporting

  • Maintain donor and funder records in Salesforce

  • Prepare development reports and presentations

Operations & Administration

  • Coordinate internal workflows and project timelines

  • Support meetings, documentation, and office logistics

  • Manage incoming correspondence and records

Communications & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Coordinate partner outreach and event communications

  • Support webinars, events, and community initiatives

Physical Requirements

  • Sit, bend, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Lift approximately 20-25 lbs. on occasion.

  • Stand and move throughout the office.

  • Have consistent and reliable attendance.

  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Work under pressure with changing, ambiguous priorities.

  • Communicate effectively and promptly to clients or employees of the organization.

  • High level of manual dexterity to adeptly type and use computer equipment.

  • Follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with Development and Operations

  • Extremely detail-oriented self-starter – you pay attention to detail and thoroughly check work.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and identify practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with a variety of communication styles.

  • Experience with basic financials – budgets, profit & loss statements/statements of financial activity, grant accounting.

  • Strong skills with Microsoft/Google software suites (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Forms).

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years of administrative and/or non-profit program experience

  • Experience maintaining CRM databases; Salesforce experience strongly preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management
