WASHINGTON—To bring attention to congressional inaction on immigration legislation and to push for common-sense measures to reform our broken system, leaders from the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum are joining the “Fast for Families” efforts as part of a nationwide solidarity campaign by immigrant rights, faith and labor advocates.

President and CEO Kathy Ko Chin, Vice President of Community Strategies Ed Tepporn, Policy Director Priscilla Huang, Finance & Administration Officer Judy Gong, Development Director Aiko Pandorf and Community Initiatives Director Marianne Chung will fast for 24 hours on Dec. 7, standing with the over 500 Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders doing the same and other committed advocates who have been fasting since Nov. 12.

“It’s been months since the Senate passed an immigration measure,” said Chin. “But, so far the House has not voted on that effort, leaving the country in limbo on this critical issue. Congress can no longer ignore the needs of the millions of immigrant families. Immigration reform cannot wait.”
