WASHINGTON – Tonight, in his State of the Union address, President Joe Biden outlined the historic progress that his administration has achieved and reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare access and affordability for all Americans.

Juliet K. Choi, President & CEO of the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF), gave the following statement:

“We applaud the work that President Biden and Congress have achieved to lower health care costs and expand coverage for American families. This progress includes lowering prescription drug costs, strengthening and expanding Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act, and protecting Americans from surprise medical billing.

“We echo President Biden’s declarations to continue the path forward to expand health care access for all Americans, including protecting reproductive rights and the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans. This also includes support for the Cancer Moonshot, patients and their families, and standing up for seniors.

“We look forward to our continued work with the Administration and Congress in a bipartisan manner to ensure that every American, every family, has access to quality, affordable healthcare.”
