WASHINGTON – Today, the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to review President Obama’s immigration executive action that established the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents program (DAPA) and expanded the 2012 Deferred Action for Childhood arrivals program (DACA+). The case is United States v. Texas.

“We hope the Court upholds the sound law and policy of this executive action, which will unite families and communities,” said Kathy Ko Chin, APIAHF president and CEO. “Five million families are waiting with their lives on hold, including up to half a million Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The Court should end this uncertainty and maintain the President’s commitment to creating a future for immigrant families across the country who call America home.”
