WASHINGTON – Today, the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum released the following statement regarding the American Health Care Act.

“Today, Congressional leadership did not bring the repeal bill for a vote. This is a testament to the power of collective community action around the nation, as the very people who would be impacted by Congress’ actions have spoken up loud and clear: protect our care,” said Kathy Ko Chin, APIAHF president and CEO. “The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been a literal lifeline for Americans around the country and Congress’ plan to repeal the law would have threatened to undo much of that, including eliminating affordable coverage for millions of Americans, including 2 million Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AAs and NHPIs). Yesterday, we celebrated the ACA’s seventh anniversary and continue our efforts to make affordable health care accessible to all families across the country.”
