WASHINGTON – The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) commends Dr. Mary Wakefield on being named Acting Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
“Dr. Wakefield has made a great impact at Health Resources and Services Administration and will undoubtedly bring her leadership and energy to a new role at HHS,” said Kathy Ko Chin, president and CEO of APIAHF.
“Dr. Wakefield has been a strong leader in helping to expand access to health care under the Affordable Care Act, reaching populations like the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities who are so often left out of the process. We look forward to her continued public service and innovation at HHS.”
Dr. Wakefield will be replacing Bill Corr.
