APIAHF submitted a response (via online form) on a request for information (RFI) on access to care and coverage for Medicaid/CHIP enrollees. We provided comments on the need for stronger language access protections, such as requiring taglines for all written materials for potential and current enrollees beyond vital documents and urged CMS to discourage states from reverifying immigration and identity status during the redetermination process, unless an applicant has a stated status change. APIAHF also commented on the need for data disaggregation by race, ethnicity and preferred language on Medicaid enrollees and on the need for revisions to CMS guidance to states on Compacts of Free Association (COFA) migrants’ Medicaid eligibility for those who have adjusted to lawful permanent resident (LPR) status.
